Burricleta, the Catalan e-bike

Not so long ago, the fearsome pirates and privateers sailed across the Mediterranean in search of wealth and slaves to sell on the black market. Since the 16th century the Medes Islands have been the refuge of many pirate ships:  from there they prepared their attacks on land.

This route will make you discover the trail that these stories have left us in this territory.

On the way, you will see the Medes Islands, the river Ter, the farms of the plain that built towers to prevent pirate attacks,  and the nice town of Torroella de Montgrí.

A nice, easy and familiar route.

This route takes you through the small towns of the Empordà, which have been frozen in time like Lluís Llach said in his song: the bells always see each other.

The Medieval Villages Route is one which takes you to two of the most emblematic and best preserved villages in the Baix Empordà: Peratallada and Pals. Along the way, you'll pedal through pine forests and fields of a variety of crops.

The historical and artistic heritage that you'll see along the route is impressive, but be warned: you'll be astonished by the beautiful countryside you see. Ideal for exploring everything by bike.

This route have it all, little villages, monuments at Pals, forest, wetlands, taking a bath on the beach (if you dare, of course) while watching the Medes islands.

This is the route that allows you to live almost the whole of the Natural Montgri Park - Medes Islands - Lower Ter, in one day, at your own pace, without wearing yourself out and with some spectacular views of the river Ter, the Medes Islands, the Gulf of Roses and the plains of the Empordà.
